Course Icons:
The following course icons are found throughout the course.
Icon |
What it means? |
Activity Icon: This icon asks participants to complete a brief activity embedded in Canvas, or will direct participants to an outside digital tool. (Note: Digital Tools outside of Canvas may ask for participants to create a separate account for that tool.) |
Reading Icon: This icon points participants to specific chunks of reading embedded in the Module. |
Video Icon: This icon directs participants to watch a video either embedded in the Canvas lesson or external tool. |
View Icon This icon, much like the reading icon, will direct participants to a resource that will require viewing. |
Thinking Icon: This icon directs learners to spend some time thinking and reflecting about a specific topic and/or question. This “think time” may lead to another activity, but it does not have to. In some instances, it may indicate time for you to pause, think, and digest information. |
Resource Icon: This icon showcases a variety of resources or handouts for further learning. |
Forum Icon: This icon gives participants instructions to post responses in a Canvas discussion forum. |
Learning Conversation Through your professional learning experiences, you will be asked to participate in conversations with other learners relating to the specific topics being discussed. Sometimes, you will submit a written comment or reflection individually or as a group, and other times, the group will have a conversation that discusses application, relevance, implication to your teaching practice and your student learning. |
Did You Know? This icon will point participants to a Did You Know? activity. This is different than the Activity Icon, in that it will require participants to read a question and then a factual statement, rather than complete a written activity. |
Moving Forward Icon This icon may appear at the end of a Module or a Page, provides thought wrap-up for the learning content on that page, and directs participants to the learning aim of the following page. |
